Resolution on Organizations Promoting
Anti-Resource Policies

On December 28, 2001, the FRA Board of Directors approved a Resolution expressing FRA's policy with respect to organizations which adopt grant-making or product procurement policies that attack sustainable forest use or discriminate against the industries and communities that depend on forest products for their livelihoods. The Resolution, drafted under the supervision of FRA's Pro-Active Forestry Communications and Education Committee, is both a guidance document and a public position. To review the Resolution, please click here.

The Resolution does not call for boycotts, which are illegal, and does not propose that organizations lack the right to determine their own procurement policies or to donate funds as they choose. It confines itself to stating what actions FRA will take, and urge its members to take, in response to such policies and actions, and why.
