FRA RELEASES LATEST PULPWOOD STATISTICS

Rockville, MD – The Forest Resources Association has published its updated
Annual Pulpwood Statistics Summary Report: 2000-2004, a compilation
of reports submitted to FRA’s annual pulpwood statistic program from the
nation’s 156 wood-using pulp mills for the calendar year 2004. The Report
summarizes the pulpwood receipt and inventory data, wood fiber burned for
energy production, and wood supplied to 31 oriented strand-board mills.
The Report, including 14 tables and 7 charts, presents breakdowns
of the following data:

also includes an up-to-date list of U.S. wood-using pulp mills and
recently closed mills.

FRA’s Director of Forestry Programs, Steve Jarvis, who compiled the
Report, noted that 2004 U.S. pulpwood receipts had risen by 2.7% over 2003
levels, for a total of 232,414,847 green tons. OSB receipts totaled an
additional 19,002,365 green tons, for the 31 mills reporting.

2000-2004 (05-A-07) @ $100.00. The Report is available to
non-members for $200.00. Please enclose payment with order, checks payable
