• In the woods, you and fellow hosts are in charge.
  
  
• Your audience may be lost, resenting their dependence on you.
  
  
• Be friendly, reassuring, respectful.
  
  
• Provide water, sodas.
  
  
• Make sure people will be dressed appropriately for the day.
  
  
• Make sure you have a public address system, so the tour participants can hear you at tour stops.
  
  
• Shut down noisy buses and equipment when making a tour stop presentation.
  
  
• Use prepared "flip chart type" audio-visuals to back up your tour stop presentation.
