President
Forest Resources Association

Richard Lewis was appointed FRA President in 1990, following eight years as Appalachian Region Forester. Richard staffs the FRA Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, as well as several of FRA’s frequently appointed task groups.

Richard’s career started with “dirt forestry.” He held jobs as forester and senior forester with the New Jersey Bureau of Forestry, then served as Director of the American Tree Farm System from 1972 to 1982. He holds forestry degrees from Paul Smith’s College and the State University of New York at Syracuse, a Masters Certificate from the American University School of Business.
